With this contract, LG Energy Solution has established cooperative relationships with all of the top five global automakers. This suggests that LG Energy Solution and Toyota have identified each other as the most suitable partners for strengthening their strategy in the North American electric vehicle market.

Starting from 2025 and continuing for 10 years, LG Energy Solution plans to supply 20 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electric vehicle batteries annually to Toyota in North America under this contract. The size of the contract is not exactly known, but it is estimated to be over at least KRW 30 trillion ($25 billion) in the industry.

LG Energy Solution plans to supply pouch-type batteries, which are its strength, to Toyota and these batteries are known as Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese-Aluminum (NCMA) series with a high nickel proportion.
